Writing an essay and screaming are the same thing, right?

Ringing in the new year with this insight

I found myself drawn to essays told with and through the information we take in through our bodies as well as whatever the intellect offers, or the memory, or the voices of others. I wanted to feel something. I wanted to be taken our of my life with the force of a posession and then return to it changed. Or I wanted a gentleness amid so much terror. If I wanted safety. it was the safety the truth provides.
